The BIG picture hook


In Chapter 1, Understanding the Prezi Frame of Mind, we explained to you how the BIG picture technique works. If you use this technique very early in an online Prezi, it will grab the user's attention and engage them from the start. Put differently, it's best to work from the general to the specific levels.

Try to use the following structure when putting your online Prezi together with a path:

  1. Give users an opening frame with instructions as explained earlier.

  2. On the next transition, zoom out to show users the whole canvas (the BIG Picture).

  3. Now, zoom back in to the details and deliver the content.

  4. Zoom back out at the end to reveal the BIG Picture again.

By doing this, you give the user an idea of the path they are about to follow. It will grab their attention and keep them engaged.
