Administrator licensing

All Intune administrators need a Microsoft Intune license by default. You can change this in the MEM admin center (https://endpoint.microsoft.com) at a later point, so you can give administrators access to MEM without them requiring an Intune license. This option is enabled by default on all tenants created after Intune service release 2006.

To get an administrator license, you need to follow these steps:

1. Go to Tenant admin | Roles | Administrator Licensing.
2. Click Allow access to unlicensed admins:

   Important Note

   You cannot revert this setting once it is set.

3. In the Microsoft 365 admin center, go to admin.microsoft.com. If you are a global admin, you can assign your Intune license:
