Configuring Teams live events settings
The Microsoft Teams admin center has a Live events settings page, found by choosing Meetings > Live events settings from the left-hand menu.
Tip
Teams meetings are limited to 300 participants, while live events can have up to 10,000 attendees. The Advanced Communication add-on for Microsoft Teams increases these limits to 1,000 and 20,000 respectively. With the add-on, Teams meetings participants that join after the 1,000th (overflow) are view-only participants up to 20,000. You can also use the Microsoft live events assistance program to plan events with up to 100,000 attendees.
For users to be able to create live events, they'll need to be licensed for Office 365 (E1, E3, E5, A3, or A5), Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Stream (if planning to share recordings to external apps or devices).
