Investigating data processing architecture
We mentioned this earlier in this book: we love it when operators start seeing their equipment in new ways. Operators can usually see some parameters about the equipment, especially with more current operations, but they often want to see more data differently. This is where IT and OT can work together. IT can show the equipment and processes as data, whereas OT can share how the physical equipment and processes work. Domain knowledge and data analysis go hand in hand in this case—the result is exponential improvements in trust, and the partnership grows.
As usual, before we get too deep into solutions, we want to look ahead and see where we are going. In this case, we will leverage some of the same AWS services considered earlier but more in-depth to flush out a few additional pieces of the architecture.
