In this chapter, we have learned about Horizon desktop pools. In addition to learning how to create three different types of desktop pools, we were introduced to a number of key concepts that are part of the pool creation process.
We discussed the differences between Instant Clone, linked clone, and full clone virtual desktops; how Sysprep differs from QuickPrep; how to monitor the provisioning of a Horizon desktop pool; the types of issues that can prevent a pool from provisioning successfully, and how to grant users or security groups access to desktop pools using desktop pool entitlements.
In Chapter 8, Implementing Microsoft Remote Desktop Services Application and Desktop Pools, we will examine how to create pools that can be used to stream applications using Microsoft Windows RDS servers.
