Building a security-first cloud architecture
If we go by the measure of Common Vulnerability and Exposures (CVEs) published in the National Vulnerability Database (NVD) and maintained by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), we are witnessing a whopping 4.5x increase in the amount of CVEs just in the last 7 years. Per the data, roughly 100 CVEs were published in NVD each week on average in 2016, while that number jumped to 450 CVEs in 2023 [2] [3].
