Creating Dynamic Dashboards

Now that we know how to create tables and charts, let’s explore incorporating these visualizations into dashboards. Dashboards are a great way of communicating information with others. Splunk dashboards can be created with filters, tokens, and drilldowns to make them more dynamic. We can also embed reports and JavaScript code. Splunk dashboards are composed of one or more panels that can be grouped to tell a story. Classic Splunk dashboards were created using Simple XML. Therefore, a classic dashboard in Splunk is an XML file composed of commonly used XML tags such as <form>, <title>, and <input>, as well as Splunk-specific tags such as <table>, <chart>, and <search>.
