Summary
In this chapter, we learned how to create pages, how pages are structured, and how web parts are used to create content. Since SharePoint has several dozens of web parts, the best way to learn is to try out how they work and look. We also learned how page drafts and publishing work and how pages can be promoted.
Next, we discovered the power of aggregation web parts and audience targeting, which can be used to bring in content from various sources, with a choice to use a personalized view.
Finally, we were introduced to page templates and how they are used to create uniform content.
In the following chapter, we will move to backend services and focus on SharePoint’s search engine and search features in detail.
