Conventions used

There are a number of text conventions used throughout this book.

Code in text: Indicates code words in text, database table names, folder names, filenames, file extensions, pathnames, dummy URLs, user input, and Twitter handles. Here is an example: “By convention, open source projects hosted on GitHub tend to have the following documents in the root of the repository that consumers and contributors to the project should be familiar with:

  • CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md
  • CONTRIBUTING.md…”

Bold: Indicates a new term, an important word, or words that you see onscreen. For instance, words in menus or dialog boxes appear in bold. Here is an example: “Navigate via the browser to https://aws.amazon.com/ and click on the text that reads Create an AWS Account in the upper-right corner of the page.”
