Summary

In this chapter, we covered the fundamentals of getting the Cisco ASA firewall up and working in a production environment. We've seen how to secure our device, enable remote access (SSH and Telnet), enable PAT, set a default route to the ISP, and set up the Adaptive Security Device Manager (ASDM) for further administration.

In the next chapter, we are going to dive even deeper into advanced configurations on the ASA.
