Analyzing system activity
Looker offers an internal tool called System Activity, powered by a dedicated LookML model connected to Looker’s underlying application database. This tool provides detailed information about your Looker instance, including saved Looks and dashboards, user data, query history, and performance statistics. It’s important to note that the amount of data collected and how long it’s stored are subject to system limitations.
Looker’s System Activity section contains the following subsections: User Activity, Content Activity, Database Performance, Instance Performance, Performance Recommendations, and Errors and Broken Content.
In this section, we will explore System Activity reports and how you can customize them.
Getting ready
Click on Looker’s menu button (in the top-left corner of the Looker interface) and then click on Admin. In Admin, find the System Activity section.
