Reviewing billing for consumption
In this section, we will look at how we bill for consumption. We will begin by looking at how we bill for consumption in Azure.
When using the pay as you use model in Azure, a user subscribes to an offer, which gets them a subscription ID. The user then uses Azure resources, and usage meters are submitted to Microsoft alongside the associated subscription ID. These details are then processed by Microsoft Commerce, who applies the prices to the quantities being consumed and generates the bill. Usage charges can be viewed using the Azure Account Center, as shown in the following screenshot:
