Azure infrastructure security
Microsoft Azure is a cloud hosting platform with physical data centers across the globe. As such, Azure’s approach to infrastructure security starts with protecting its physical data centers, network, and hardware. Microsoft designs data centers with multiple layers of physical and logical security controls to comply with a broad range of international standards, such as ISO 27001 and PCI DSS Level 1, to name a few. These measures secure their physical investments and ensure that their clientele can remain confident that their data and infrastructure are secured from external parties.
Beyond the physical hardware in the data centers, we begin to think about our virtualized solution infrastructure. A solution’s components, such as virtual networks, machines, and other Azure services, must implement the best and most flexible security measures to balance compliance and usability.
