Commercial models
SAP provides two main commercial models for enterprises to purchase SAP BTP, as outlined here:
- Subscription-based model: In this model, customers subscribe to one or multiple services. At the time of purchase, you negotiate with SAP to use a fixed set of services during a fixed term for a fixed price. When the term expires, you can extend your subscription.
- Consumption-based model: In this model, you do not need to fix the set of services you will be using, and you have two options, as follows:
- If you establish a Cloud Platform Enterprise Agreement (CPEA) with SAP, you make an annual commitment to using SAP BTP over a fixed term with no restriction on which services you can use. SAP gives you a number of cloud credits you can consume by using SAP BTP services. During the agreement term, you can flexibly adjust what you are using by enabling, disabling, or ramping up/down the service utilization as long as you do not deplete your cloud credits.
