Using binary large objects (blobs) to read and write raw/binary fields

Sometimes, we find it necessary to work with binary data (for example, when our records have raw data such as attachments, images, and so on).

To achieve this, Alteryx provides us with a series of tools to manage blobs, which allow us to read binary files (in this case, images) as raw type fields in databases and/or save them exactly as we read them in a field.

In our previous recipe, we took a Python script from the web and made it work on Alteryx, giving our workflow functionality we wouldn’t have had otherwise.

In this recipe, we are going to use an improved version of that script, and we are going to feed it with images saved in binary format.
