Introduction
VMware Horizon View Kiosk Mode Clients are a type of client whose authentication has been previously configured using the media access control (MAC) address of the client device. Once properly configured, Kiosk Mode Clients can log in to Horizon View using nothing more than the name of a Connection Server.
Kiosk Mode Clients can be useful in a number of situations, including the following:
- Providing individuals who do not have Active Directory (AD) user accounts with access to a desktop so that they can perform a task
- Providing access to a general-use desktop in areas where user authentication might not be required, such as a lunch room, fitness centre, or reception area
Using Kiosk Mode Clients, the technology staff can provide an authentication-free desktop environment while still leveraging the benefits of virtual desktop computing.
It is important to note that VMware Horizon View does not offer the ability to secure Kiosk Mode Client devices as well as the Horizon View desktops...
