Refining edges
There are a number of tools and filters we can use to smooth out hard and rough edges of selections we’ve made non-destructively using masks.
For the first example, we will soften the edges on a banana:
- Grab the Banana photo reference located in the
Chapter 5

esources
folder and drag it into the Photopea Main area. - Use the Quick Selection tool to select the banana. The tool missed a small portion on the end of the banana. To fix this, select the Magic Wand tool with the selection still active and press Shift while clicking the Magic Wand to expand the selection to cover the entire banana (don’t worry about the selection being perfect).
