Summary
This chapter allowed us to create another useful project while also providing opportunities to gain greater proficiency in using some of Tinkercad’s more advanced tools and features. Incorporating measurements and tolerances in our design was an important step to finding success in this application and one that we will continue to practice in the coming chapters.
We also put the Duplicate and repeat tool to good use in this chapter as we made patterns in our design, as well as to copy our shapes more efficiently. The unique angles on the parts of our model also allowed us to use the Cruise tool to efficiently move shapes onto different workplanes in the design more easily than if we tried to manually rotate and position the parts without it.
This chapter also allowed us to expand our understanding of real-world design principles as we not only considered the aesthetics of our project but the ergonomic functionality of the parts too. These concepts are not always...
