Whenever you give a person access to NetSuite, you need to select a role or a number of roles that can be used. This applies to employees as well as customers, vendors, and partners, who would be assigned to the customer center, vendor center, or partner center to access those portals.
The administrator can permit or restrict access to any screen in NetSuite, so there are many options to choose from. The good news is NetSuite provides standard templates, so we don't need to set these roles up from scratch. You'll find the role templates under Setup | User & Roles | Manage Roles.
