Managed metadata can be used to provide a consistent database of structured terms to apply to content throughout an organization, improving search and discovery experiences. In this chapter, you learned about the capabilities of the Managed Metadata Service, as well as learning about common administrative tasks, such as creating, copying, and deleting terms. In addition, you learned about the multilingual capabilities of the Managed Metadata Service, further improving accessibility and search capabilities for those whose native language is different than that of the content creator.
In the next chapter, we'll learn about how to configure the SharePoint Online environment for guest access and some of the methods available to secure it.
