Exploring what media is best suited for use with the 3-2-1 rule
When it comes to implementing the 3-2-1 rule for backups, you want to ensure that you follow the best practices, which means to ensure you use at least two different types of media. There are many media types out there that are suitable for use within Veeam Backup & Replication.
Disk media includes the following:
- SAN
- Storage snapshots (primary storage)
- NFS Network-Attached Storage (NAS) devices
- SMB NAS devices
- USB
- Rotating/removable media, such as RDX drives
- A general-purpose disk that is directly attached storage
