Summary
Traveling as an SE is truly an exciting and wonderful part of the SE career choice. I have so many fond memories of both places and people that I have had the privilege to meet during my career. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. From the range of experiencing new local restaurants in Washington DC to traveling abroad, visiting a new country, and enjoying their local culture and customs has been a great joy and thrill throughout my time as an SE.
However, I also admit that I have known some who became exasperated with their travels for a variety of reasons, and that should be a caution in itself. Take time to understand both your personal situation and your travel requirements for the role you are in throughout the seasons of your life. Hopefully, they align well so you can live a balanced life. I have mentioned this a number of times already, and because of its importance, will mention it again: an SE must live a balanced life based on their strategic priorities....
