This new version of Elements provides a number of world class AI features - all designed to make the creative process a bit easier and more fun. For example, selections are notoriously hard to get 'right'. They can be time-consuming and as often as not, end up not working very effectively. As with most edit styles, success is always tempered by the nature of the image itself. A furry cat is a lot trickier to select than a hard-edged object like a wine bottle. What AI has done is increase the accuracy and speed of the process - resulting in a far greater success rate, thus saving all photographers a lot of computer time.
In the example here, the software removed the background in the cat shot very effectively - it's not perfect - but it's quite usable. The male portrait in contrast took only 15 seconds to complete, with a 95% accuracy. If I'd had to do this manually, it would have taken 15-20mins. I know which technique...
