Configuring the Hadoop-YARN services


Hadoop-YARN services are configured using a property tag. A property tag contains the name, value, and description of a property. It also contains an optional flag to mark the property as final. The default values for these properties are defined in the yarn-default.xml file. An administrator can override the default values by defining properties in the yarn-site.xml file. To explore the properties in the yarn-default.xml file, you can refer to the link http://hadoop.apache.org/docs/r2.5.1/hadoop-yarn/hadoop-yarn-common/yarn-default.xml.

A YARN service is configured as a host:port value. The host can be the hostname or an IP address of a node. You can also specify the value of any another property using the $ symbol with curly braces, such as ${sample.property}.

The ResourceManager service

The hostname for the ResourceManager node is configured using the yarn.resourcemanager.hostname property. Its default value is 0.0.0.0 and an administrator should override...
