Creating curled stickers
In this recipe we will draw a curled sticker commonly used for simple website messages such as promos or "special price" tags. We will first create the sticker, and then use clipping to create the illusion of the curled end peeling off.
How to do it...
The following steps will demonstrate how to create a curled sticker:
1. Select the Star tool (Shift + F9 or *) and create a 30 corner star with Spoke ratio: set to 0.93. Remove its stroke and set fill to 30% Gray.
2. Select the Gradient tool (Ctrl + F1 or G) and create a linear gradient in the object fill by dragging from the top-right corner to the bottom-left corner. Set the opacity of the end stop to 100.
3. Create a new gradient stop by double-clicking on the middle of the gradient path; select the new stop by clicking on it and changing its color to 10% Gray.
4. Duplicate the object (Ctrl + D) and change its fill to White.
