Excel Online

Excel Services has changed immensely and if you offer these services as part of your SharePoint 2019 deployments, there are many changes you need to know about and understand. It was moved outside of SharePoint in the SharePoint 2016 version of the product. Excel Online includes many of the same features Excel Services included in SharePoint Server 2013, such as external data connectivity and data refresh features.

Data refresh in Excel Online is supported only on SQL Server and SQL Analysis Server. There are steps you can follow to setup data refresh, from creating a workbook to setting the workbook's refresh based on the data source. Refreshes can only be triggered in one of two ways:

The end user opens the workbook
The end user clicks on the refresh button on an open workbook

Office Online Server can communicate with SharePoint servers, Exchange servers, and Skype for Business servers by using HTTPS protocol. This should be the way environments...

He also has expertise in IT management, business analysis, and process development, designing solutions and managing large projects, bringing together many years of hands-on experience and knowledge.
