A business case for sensor data analytics
Consider a factory that produces goods, with many people working under the same roof. Because of the activity of the machines in the factory, environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, voltage, and light are always changing. In order to ensure that all the workers and machines stay healthy and in good condition, we need to constantly monitor these environmental conditions and make sure everything is under control. In order to achieve this, let's assume that the company has deployed sensors at various points, as shown in the following figure.
The preceding image depicts the factory area, and the numbers in black indicate the places where sensors have been deployed.
Now we are going to implement a solution that collects and process this data in order to make sure that the conditions are under control.
