Learning about workflows

A workflow is another type of process that can be defined within the Dynamics 365 platform. This process is also used to model and automate business processes. Workflows run in the background. They are triggered automatically based on certain triggers on the entity forms or based on specific conditions, or they can be started manually by a user. Starting a workflow manually is done by navigating to a record and selecting the Run Flow option on the ribbon. Then, within the Run Workflow section, you need to find the specific workflow to be run:

Note that Flow is now the preferred and recommended way to create automation, and Workflows can only be created by dropping into the Classic solution interface. Workflows created through the Classic interface are presented in the Unified Interface for workflows marked as on-demand processes.
