Exporting and importing preflight profiles

When using preflight profiles, it can be useful to be able to import and export the profiles. Maybe you want to export a copy of a preflight profile to give it to a colleague for them to preflight their own documents, or you might want to import a copy of a preflight profile provided by your printer. In either case, the ability to export and import profiles can come in useful and potentially save you quite a bit of time.

In this recipe, we will look at how to export a preflight profile from the Preflight panel as well as how to import a profile back into the panel.

Getting ready

If you are intending to export a preflight profile, then you should be comfortable creating a preflight profile as shown in the previous recipe, Creating a custom preflight profile. If you are looking to import a preflight profile that you have been provided with, you can skip straight to step 3.
