In an increasingly competitive world, having a positive differential puts us ahead. Imagine being able to extend your desktop applications and control them remotely. It may be possible, for example, to develop an application that advances the slides of a PowerPoint presentation to you on your phone, without the need for any specific hardware.
If we think about it a little, extending an application leads us to building new solutions without the end customer wasting time (after all, time is money, oh yeah!).
Imagine a remote control; now, imagine your cell phone as a remote control for your notebook. We can think of some useful commands, as follows:
- Computer, open the browser on site x.
- Computer, turn off Windows sound.
- Computer, turn off the monitor.
- Computer, play a song.
- Computer, send me the sales report from my store.
- Computer, make a backup...
