What we might need to work on

"There is nothing good or bad, but thinking makes it so."

--Shakespeare, Hamlet, Act II, Scene II

Our natural traits and preferences as introverts such as listening more and being curious to get many details and innuendos clear, lend themselves to successful negotiations. With negotiating being an activity that may come more naturally to extroverts, we must acknowledge that we will have to consciously use more extroverting behaviors.

While we may have certain preferences about how we interact with other people, it is the very nature of social interaction that we may sometimes have to act in ways that are contrary to our preferences. We must be willing to get out of our comfort zone. Over time, interacting in a more extroverted manner can become more comfortable. Often when speaking to an association or organization about how introverts and extroverts can collaborate in the workplace, people will comment to me, "There is no way you are an introvert!".
