CloudFront is a CDN that can help improve the performance of our applications by delivering the content from AWS Edge Locations. Our content source, called an origin in CloudFront, can be either an S3 bucket or a DNS-resolvable hostname running within the AWS network or outside it. CloudFront can be highly customized and tied in with other AWS services to deliver content with lower latency and higher security, and at a lower cost. We have also taken a look at how simple it is to create a CloudFront distribution and how to measure the performance difference between our servers and the content being delivered through the CDN. In the next chapter, we will look into various storage options in AWS.
