To deliver the content to the user in a custom manner, the Route 53 service supports different routing policies. These routing policies enable us to shape the traffic according to different aspects of the user's request. For example, we can choose to send users from a certain geographical area to a certain region or regions, we can decide to respond with one origin or multiple, or we can send the response for only the fastest responding device. The following routing policies can be configured in Route 53:
- Simple routing
- Multi-value response
- Latency-based routing
- Weighted routing
- Failover routing
- Geo-location routing
- Geo-proximity routing
