Summary
In this chapter, we looked at several different types of latency. The focus was on how best to reduce Application Latency, which is the latency we developers have the most control over. We looked at how BizTalk, Windows Server AppFabric, and Azure all could work in a low-latency environment but we chose a final architecture based on Windows Server AppFabric. This architecture uses a fast, non-persistent .NET 4.0 Workflow to aggregate various vendor response messages and to return a single result to the client.
