TrussMaker and RoofMaker
There are a few commands in Archicad that are not really new tools but provide a series of automatic modeling steps to create a group of objects at once, based on reference geometry.
We like to call them wizard tools, as these commands guide you through a series of steps.
The end result of the wizards is typically a group of objects or a new Library Object, which is a lot more efficient when compared to modeling it component per component. In many cases, though, it will result in a (very) good first “sketch,” and some manual adjustments can still be needed to finalize the design element(s).
TrussMaker
We will use the TrussMaker wizard to create geometrically complex 3D trusses using rather simple 2D elements:
- Draw an arbitrary truss shape using lines. We do this in the floor plan, which is a suitable 2D environment for line drawing.
- Select the lines of the truss and activate the wizard to turn them into a truss (Design...
