Applying Solid Tools versus Intersect Faces
In this section, we’ll learn about Solid Tools, which are used to trim, split, intersect, and combine solid objects. If you have not used Intersect Faces, we will give you a brief overview. Using Solid Tools or Intersect Faces is helpful when you are not familiar with extensions or plugins SketchUp offers, you prefer using native SketchUp tools, or you need to make a quick and easy change in the model.
As with the other tools you’ve learned about in this chapter, give yourself some time to understand how they work and be patient when you make mistakes.

Solid Tools
Solid Tools is a toolbar or palette in SketchUp that gives you six different ways to create new shapes: Outer Shell, Intersect, Union, Subtract, Trim,...
