Defining an emergency SOS
Imagine the worse. What if you're in a car accident and are unable to use your hands to dial a phone number to call for help? Or what if you're in immediate danger from other people and don't have time to pull out your iPhone and call for the police?
The answer is simple. Before you get into trouble, take a moment to turn on the iPhone's Emergency SOS calling feature, which lets you contact emergency services by pressing the sleep/wake button five times to call for help.
To turn on this Emergency SOS feature, follow these steps:
- Tap the Settings icon on the Home screen.
- Tap Emergency SOS. The Emergency SOS screen appears, as shown in Figure 3.18:
