Indie game development has never been more accessible. This is fantastic news, but it also means that we face a sea of noise and competition when we try to attract attention to our efforts. Further complicating matters, creating and executing a marketing plan requires different skills than those required to create a video game. Many games have their best sales day on the day they are launched. This means that you need to start building public awareness of your project early in development so your popularity peaks as you release your game.
