Keeping in mind that the product is still in beta, it is too early to rely on PowerShell Core for production scenarios. The prospects of its adoption across the industry however are truly exciting. Microsoft has taken the first step into positioning PowerShell as the de facto standard for cross-platform management.
As .NET Core matures and becomes mainstream, Office 365 and other products will be undoubtedly supported in PowerShell Core. Soon, we should be able to fully manage Office 365 through scripting in any platform.
