Activity 8: Providing feedback on grammar using the Assignment module

One way we can help students improve the grammar in their writing and speaking is by providing detailed feedback on a draft version of a text they are preparing, and then getting them to submit an improved version of that draft. The students' text can be written or spoken. To submit recordings, students can either use the add-on NanoGong audio recorder or they can record a file on their computer and submit it as an attachment. See Chapter 2, Getting Started with Moodle for more help with NanoGong and audio recording.

We can use the Assignment module in Moodle to give feedback on writing and speaking in two ways:

• We can use the Outcomes feature to set up a rating scale which provides a general comment on the student's grammar.
