Creating Floors
So, let's start flooring it. First, we'll set up the 3D view in a configuration well suited to the type of modeling we'll be doing. I'm going to add a Suzanne head just so you'll be able to see the result of our changes, but there's no need for you to do it if you just want to follow the steps:
- Create a
SpaceEscapeObjects
Blender file. - Let's get into Front view. Do you remember two ways to do it? You can choose View | Viewport | Front, but the pro way is to jump straight there with Numpad 1.
- You're going to want to use the numpad anyway because we're going to raise up our view a bit by pressing Numpad 8 two times.
- Then, we're going to swing around the vertical axis a bit by pressing Numpad 4 three times.
- Finally, we'll switch from perspective to orthographic view either by clicking the icon in the "zoopancamper" controls area or pressing Numpad 5.
