Chapter 3. Constructing a Hyper-V Server Cluster
A cluster of Hyper-V Servers is made up of numerous parts. There is the hypervisor itself, the Windows Server installation serving as the management operating system, and the Failover Clustering component. Microsoft provides a plethora of tools to manage all of these. One of the best ways to become oriented to these tools is through the construction of your cluster. The purpose of this chapter is to show you how to build the cluster you've designed. Along the way, you'll become familiarized with some of the management applications you'll be using to maintain your systems.
This chapter will cover:
- Acquiring and installing the management tools
- Performing initial node configuration
- Connecting your nodes into a cluster
