Creating slides based on Master Slides

Master Slides are used as templates for the individual slides of a Captivate project. In this section, you will create slides in your new project and explore how to apply Master Slides using the following steps:

  1. Use the Exit Master icon on the Toolbar to switch back to the Filmstrip view. You can also use the Window menu and deselect the Master Slide item.
  2. If needed, reduce the width of the Filmstrip by dragging the vertical separator between the Filmstrip and the stage to the left.
  3. Use the Insert | New Slide From | Content 02 menu item to insert a new slide based on the Content 02 Master Slide of the Theme.

The new slide already contains objects. To be exact, the elements contained on the slides are not actual objects yet. These elements are objects Placeholders. They are used to predefine the location, size, and other formatting options of a future object.

  1. Double-click the Double click to add title Placeholder.
  2. Type some text...
