Understanding Reports and Analytics
I believe that the best marketing strategies are refined over time. As you get to know your audience a little better or even as the audience grows, you might find that what keeps people engaged over time might change. And the best way to adjust and pivot is to look at the data that your platforms are giving you. I’m a fairly data-driven person, meaning that I like to accumulate and slice my data to extrapolate what an ideal next step or experiment might be.
This can be a bit of a double-edged sword in the sense that I used to get decision paralysis; faced with so many options and possibilities, I would overthink and overanalyze every data point. In this chapter, I’d like to help you cut through the noise, look at your data holistically, and help make sure you’re not stuck obsessing where I might have obsessed in the past.
