Responding to REST requests

In this section, we will assume a fictional scenario where Sweets Complete starts a partner channel. The partners need access to basic product information, including product keys, titles, and prices. For maximum flexibility, for the purposes of this illustration, let's say that Sweets Complete has decided to develop a simple Application Programming Interface (API). 

All the partner needs to do is to make a REST request of the Sweets Complete website, and the partner can obtain information on a single product or all products. Before we get into the exact details, however, it's important to digress for a moment and examine what REST is.
