Self-service analytics of governed data
All enterprises have data and BI teams across the different business units. The traditional process for a business user to get reports would be that they submit a request for one or more reports across different subject areas to these data and BI teams. The data team would identify the best source(s) of data, construct a query based on the business requirement, and do an initial validation of the query results. This is then passed on to the BI team for report creation, after which the business user gets the report they are looking for. This can often be an iterative process and can take anywhere from days to weeks.
