Editing audio in Movie mode
In a professional editing workflow, the video is normally edited first, and then the sound is edited after the picture lock, which means the video clips will always stay in the same position. That means no one has to worry about sound work falling out of sync if last-minute video changes are made. So, when you’re editing, video first and sound second is a good order to keep.
In iMovie, there are two kinds of audio: foreground and background. In the mobile app, foreground audio is shaded blue and sits directly underneath the video. Background audio is shaded green and sits below all foreground audio. When you add audio to the project, iMovie will label it as one of these audio types. Whatever an audio clip is initially labeled as can be changed. You can move background audio to the foreground. To do that:
