Summary
In this chapter, we have learned how to manage XenServer networking.
We have also discovered how to manage the Distributed Virtual Switch Controller to monitor and manage network traffic.
Specifically, we have seen:
Managing Virtual Networks and Management Interfaces
Creating VLANs to segregate traffic
Creating Network Bonds to provide resiliency
Deploying the Distributed vSwitch Controller
Managing Access Control List rules using the Distributed vSwitch Controller
In this chapter the concepts relating to networking in XenServer have been presented to you. Networking is very important in XenServer, so take some time to familiarize yourself with it and also with the Distributed vSwitch Controller. This is a feature that gives you the chance to control very deeply the network traffic in your environment.
In the next chapter, we will introduce high availability and backup concepts for a XenServer environment.
