In this chapter, we learned what UVs are and that they are necessary for creating textures. We learned how to mark seams to help Blender unwrap a model and how to visualize and fix distortion issues. We also found a balance between the number of seams and the amount of distortion. We learned how to lay out the UVs and we finished off by unwrapping our baby dragon model.
It's been a long journey since we started sculpting this character, but it's all going to pay off in the next chapter, where we'll finally get to paint textures and see the dragon come to life in full color!
