Internal warehouse processes
Once the items are received and stored, several activities regarding warehouse organization occur. From transfer orders to cycle counts, we will review the mechanisms to perform those activities and how to set them up in the warehouse management module. This section will review a warehouse’s internal operations processes and flows.
Transfer orders
Transfer orders are used to move inventory from one warehouse to another. It consists of a two-part process: shipping and receiving the items. This section will review the shipping process since the Inbound operations section describes the receiving process.
As we reviewed in Chapter 3, transfer orders are managed in the transfer order form located in the inventory management module. Here we extend this activity by controlling its picking process with the mobile device app.
